The girls’ basketball team opened the season with tournament play in Dripping Springs. It finished the tournament 3-2 after winning the first 3 games.

Last season the team finished 14-18, dropping all but two district games after a good start against a tough non district schedule.

Seniors Jena Mehlbrech and Kenedi Tanks led the team into the season a day after each signed a letter of intent to play in college.

The team started the tournament with a 68-58 win against Lake Travis, then beat Bastrop Cedar Creek 63-30 and Pflugerville Connally 64-44.

The team then lost 36-62 to host, Dripping Springs. In the final game, the team took on district rival Steele and lost 59-75.

The team will take on the Knights at least two more times once the district season begins in December.

The team will compete in the Floresville tournament beginning on Nov. 17 and continuing through Nov. 19.

Reagan will visit the team on Nov. 29 in the team’s home opener. District play will begin on Dec. 16 when the Judson Rockets come to play the team at home.
