Cross Country competes at Dripping Springs Invitational on September 2nd.

The cross country team ran away with a lopsided victory this past Saturday at the Dripping Springs Invitational, which saw the boys and girls varsity teams each earn top five finishes in their respective races. With a final official team score of 48, the boys team finished in first place for the 4k meter event. Junior Clayton Wilkerson placed third, with a time of 14:08. Juniors Andres Engle and Mason Garner placed with times of 14:18 and 14:27 respectively, resulting in fifth and sixth place finishes. The girls varsity team finished fifth in the 4k meter, with the highest finisher on the team being junior Sydney Jensen who finished sixth with a time of 17:26.

The boys and girls junior varsity teams also posted dominate results this past weekend, with both teams taking home first place for the 4k meter event. The boys team finished with an impressive final team score of 17, with sophomore Kirk Zuber and junior Desmond Henderson coming in first and second place respectively. The girl’s team finished with a final score of 27, freshman Ashley Shea came in first place, and junior Leighanna Glover placing second.

All teams will compete at the NEISD meet on Sept. 9 at 8 a.m.
