The boys varsity and jv soccer squads kicked off their 2018 season this past weekend at the Dripping Springs Tournament. Both teams went 3-0 throughout the tournament, taking home first place.

When asked about this past tournament, Junior midfielder Carlos Castro said, “I think both teams did very well in the Dripping Springs tournament, as this early success has given us confidence to keep moving forward this season and continue to win games.”

The varsity squad started off Friday with a victory over Bastrop (6-1), with senior’s Luis Green and Noel Perez each scoring two goals, and seniors Nathan Diaz and Rylan Ybarra each scoring one goal. The junior varsity defeated Cedar Creek (4-2), with Freshman Colton Adkins leading the team with two goals scored.

The following day, varsity defeated both Glenn (4-1) and Klein Collins (2-0), with goals by Luis Green, Nathan Diaz, Carlos Castro, and Brett Dildy. Junior varsity concluded their tournament with wins over Huto (2-1) and Veterans Memorial (1-0). Both squads look to build off their early success next week during the Ranger Classic which is hosted on campus.
