Boys basketball suffered another district loss on Friday, falling 63-57 against the New Braunfels Unicorns. The loss dropped the team to an overall record of 7-13 on the season, with an 0-7 record in district play.

The group trailed by just three heading into the locker room at halftime but fell short in an attempt at a comeback. Senior Alex Peavy and junior Sean Bolds led the team in scoring, with 12 points each.

The team now looks ahead for the second and final district matchup against the Steele Knights tonight. Steele won the previous matchup 86-48 on Dec. 19. The Rangers look to protect their home court against a Knight team that is currently 23-2, putting them as the fourth best team in the state, according to MaxPreps.

The game tips off tonight at 7 on the Rangers’ home floor.
