This past Saturday the varsity swim team swept away district competition with both the girls and boys swim squads finishing first place for their fourth and fifth consecutive seasons, respectively..

Virginia swim commit Konnar Klinksiek led the way for the squad as he broke two of his own district records for the 50-yard freestyle (20.82) and 100-yard butterfly swim (50.57). The senior also contributed heavily in the district champion 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay.

“I really want to leave a great legacy for us,” Klinksiek said. “I want to be able to break all the records and set a new, higher standard for everybody. I want to give them new goals to push for in the upcoming years.”

Junior Joe Hunt soared with multiple victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.71) and 100-yard backstroke (52.06) while also contributing on the relay teams. Up and coming sophomore Carter Hill blew away district opponents with at time of 59.68 seconds to win the 100-yard breaststroke.

Freshman Laney Skrobanek won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.17 seconds.
