Swim dives into All-American times

Sophomore Mackenzie Bush dives into the water on Feb. 19.

The swim team competed Feb. 19 and 20 in Austin, receiving All-American times by assessing their skill levels against multiple teams from around the state.

The boys team received a ranking of twelfth out of a total of 57 teams, and the girls team, consisting of one diver, received a ranking of 36th out of a total of 56 teams.

 

Diving

  • Mackenzie Bush, sophomore: ranked eighth out of 16

  • Dawson Martinez, senior: ranked sixth out of 16

  • Both divers received All-American scores making that the third time this season

 

Swimming

  • Konnar Klinksiek, freshman: ranked fifth (50 freestyle) and ranked tenth (100 freestyle)

  • Ian Ogrodnik, Clayton Taylor, Cole Mansker, and Konnar Klinksiek: ranked eleventh (200 Medley Relay)

  • Clayton Taylor, Shaun Besch, Ian Ogrodnik, and Konnar Klinksiek: ranked twelfth (200 Free Relay)

  • Both relay teams received All-American consideration times

  • Konnar Klinksiek received an All-American cut in the 50 free and a consideration cut in his 100 free

 

“Thank you to everyone who supported us this season, and for the awesome send-off on Friday,” swim coach, Kari Osborne said. “It was a special moment for our athletes and they were overwhelmed by how many people were there to see them off.”
