Catch up on signing day, girls soccer, baseball and softball results

Girls soccer

Girls soccer heads to Birkelbach Field in Georgetown to compete against Grapevine in the state semi-finals tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Girls soccer is currently undefeated 27-0. 

Baseball

On Saturday, baseball beat Veterans Memorial 11-1. Tuesday, they fell against Canyon 2-1. They will play Canyon again this Friday here at home at 7 p.m. Senior Jackson Elizondo pitched 6 innings with 11 outs and three walks. Sophmore and Texas commit Bryce Wells was the only batter who scored in the loss against Canyon on Tuesday.

Softball

This past Thursday, softball beat Wagner 9-1. Sophomores Arianna Capek and Madaline Haun both hit doubles, and freshman Zoey Allison had a triple. Ciara Gonzalez hit a home run. Capek pitched six innings with a pitch count of 65, with seven outs and one walk. Lilly McNett pitched one inning, with 18 pitches, two outs and one walk. 

On April 11, they took down Vets Memorial 9-3. Haun and Allison both batted doubles, with Gonzalez batting a triple. Madeline Haun pitched all seven innings with a pitch count of 80, nine strikeouts and one walk. 

Softball plays again this  Friday here at home against Canyon. Future softball players and alumni will be recognized.
