Football

Junior running back Cade Spradling scampered for three touchdowns – including a 60-yard kick return – and senior Nick Dudzikowski returned a 35-yard interception to lead the Rangers to a 57-7 victory over East Central Sept. 8 at home.

The pre-district warm-up also saw senior quarterback Ryland Walker throw 213 yards on 13 receptions out of 15 attempts while the offense racked up 594 total yards, compared to the Hornets’ 194 yards.

Junior running back Daniel DeHoyos rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown.

 

Volleyball

Volleyball played against Veterans Memorial on September 12th, winning 3-0. They will play their next game on Friday against Wagner at 7 p.m.

 

Waterpolo

Waterpolo had a game at Canyon Lake last Friday and won 13-7. They also played yesterday at Canyon and lost 19-2. Their next game will be Friday at Davenport.

 

Tennis

Varsity tennis on September seventh won against Wagner 18-1, on September eighth they lost to Newbraunfels 3-16, and won yesterday against Kerrville Tivy 10-8. Their next game will be on the 16th at 9:00 am against Churchill at home. Junior Varsity’s next game will be on the 19th at Canyon Lake at 4:30pm.

 

Cross Country

Cross Country recently competed at the Canyon Cougar Invitational XC, last Saturday. For the girls 5000 yard run, junior, Mia Perez placed 2nd with a time of 20:02.79, and junior, Zailey Zimmerman placed 34th with a time of 23:57.08. The boys also competed in the 5000 yard run. Senior Bradyn Youngdahl placed 3rd with a time of 17:19.03, sophomore, Zebene Martine placed 8th with a time of 17:54.17, sophomore, luke smith placed 14th with a time of 18:05.42, sophomore, Cruz Morales placed 18th with a time of 18:35.61, freshman Sam Hall placed 25th with a time of 19:02.14, senior Diego Huerta placed 33rd with a time of 19:20.89, junior, Landon Chapa placed 40th with a time of 19:41.76, senior, Connor Vydrzal placed 47th with a time of 20:08.84, and freshman, Trent Youngdahl placed 52nd with a time of 20:35.35. 

Cross Country’s next meet will be this Saturday at the Hays CISD XC Invatational.
