Senior Ximena Ortega and FACS teacher Aubrie Herring paint a poster to advertise for Wednesdays Fields of Faith.

Fields of Faith, hosted by Fellowship of Christian Athletes will take place on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in  Ranger Stadium. Amanda Singer, faculty sponsor of FCA, and many other members have spent numerous hours working on details for this long awaited event.

Fields of Faith is for the entire Bulverde and Spring Branch community to enjoy including students, families, church groups and students from other schools. This event is a way to become more involved in the community.

John Venezuela, a previous SVHS basketball coach, is the evangelist.

“I have planted three churches,” Venezuela said. “I have been a senior pastor for 12 years. I was a teaching pastor, student pastor, men’s pastor, and Spanish pastor at CBC”.

Brandon Koop, FCA leader, will facilitate, Ady Sublett will read scripture and issue a challenge , while the FCA worship team will lead worship with a few guests. The 2023 Homecoming Queen, Jordan Todd, is also a part of the FCA worship team.

Fields of Faith has been very popular even in past years, making the expected head count to be 350-500 people.FCA fundraisers, donations and church sponsors have allowed this tradition to continue at Smithson Valley. It takes many people for this to happen, including faculty and students.

There is a worship, testimony, prayer, message, plan, finally followed by one last prayer planned for the night.

“Come early, sing loud and expect God to touch your heart,” Singer said.
