The Rangers lost against the Warriors in their first ever bout against each other. The game was a clash, coming down to the wire, with a final score of 39-36. The Rangers are 3-2 going into their next game against Wagner on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at Ranger Stadium.
The leading passer for the rangers is senior Cade Spradling who had 6 completions for 86 yards, and he was the leading rusher as well with 18 carries and 45 yard and two touchdowns. Sophomore RB Caleb Peagler also scored a 3 yard rushing touchdown.
The leading receiver was brody day who had 4 receptions for 84 yards
Junior LB Colton Hornsby blocked a punt for a 1 yard touchdown.
And junior PK Trent Amaya made two field goals, one from distance, a 44 yard field goal and the other from 20 yards.
In the first quarter Pieper striked first with a 1 yard run from senior RB John Hamilton. Junior PK Trent Amaya placed the Rangers first points on the board with a 44 yard field goal. Pieper accidentally kneeled in the endzone for a safety, but made up for it by recovering a fumble in the endzone at the start of the second quarter.
The Rangers put up their first touchdown with a 3 yard run from sophomore RB Caleb Peagler with 2:58 left in the second quarter. Not long after, Hamilton scored a 15 yard rushing touchdown with 1:11 left to go until halftime. To start the third quarter Amaya had a 20 yard field goal. A minute later junior LB Colton Hornsby blocked a point for a touchdown.
With three minutes left to go in the third quarter senior wide receiver Isaiah Champagne scored a 22 yard touchdown. Late in the fourth quarter senior PK Daniel Miranda scored a 29 yard field goal with 5:42 left. Not long after, Cade Spradling scored a 10 yard rushing touchdown, and a minute later, he scored a 2 yard rushing touchdown. With a minute left in the fourth Pieper Sealed the game with a 41 yard pass to senior TE Evan Drake making the final score 39-36.
