What inspired you to run for Comal County Fair Queen?
The thing that inspired me to run for Fair Queen was growing up in Comal County and visiting the County Fair every year. Each year I made new memories of the Fair and saw the Fair Court and would dream I could be on it someday.
Did you have any role models or influences who motivated you to take this step?
Everyone around me was so supportive and helpful. My biggest role models were my friends who served on the Fair Court in years past.
What does this title mean to you personally?
The title of Fair Queen means so much. I get the opportunity to meet so many new people and represent my county all over the state of Texas.
What is the role description of being Comal County Queen?
The County Fair Queen serves along side both the Princess and Dutchess for a full year. They do things such as public appearances, community service, volunteering at community events, and riding in parades, all while representing Comal County well.
What qualities do you think are important for a county queen to possess?
The most important quality a Fair Queen should possess is being social and engaging. While being at different events representing the county, you interact with a lot of people. It’s crucial to be able to socialize and be engaging with everyone.
What are your main responsibilities now that you’ve won?
My main responsibilities are to represent the Fair and Comal County well. While doing community outreach and other events.
What goals do you have for your time as county queen?
My goal this year as Fair Queen is to make the most of my year of service. I want to do all I can to have a positive impact on the community in any way I can.
How do you believe this role can impact your community?
This role can impact the community in many ways, not just volunteering and having fun with little kids. But also helping bring the community closer together with positivity and fun.
How do you feel your background or experiences have prepared you for this role?
I have a large background in FFA and 4H. These organizations have prepared me with good public speaking skills and poise.
How has winning this title impacted your life or future aspirations?
Winning this title has been a dream come true. Ever since I was little I have dreamed of being where I am today, I have met so many people I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet including the Princess and Dutchess.
Do you do any other extra curricular activities? If yes, what are they and how do they complement your role as county queen?
I am very involved in Smithson Valley FFA and have shown pigs for nine years. I am also on different public speaking teams, livestock judging team, and the shooting team. I am also my chapters treasurer, and the FFA River District reporter. In 4H I compete on similar teams and I hold different leadership positions. I am my clubs third Vice president, and Comal County 4H first Vice President. These extracurriculars have given me experience with leadership roles, public speaking, problem solving, responsibility, and community service.
What message do you hope to convey as county queen?
I hope to convey a positive message and have a lasting impact on anyone I interact with as Fair Queen.
