For first time in school history, students are hosting model UN meetings. The Model United Nations team discusses global issues and devises solutions for them.

Members are representing countries that were or are in the conference during the live debate. AP US History teacher Lucy Capt will be sponsoring the event in her room B217. To prepare for the model meetings, student delegates research their assigned country or famous person. Only 20 delegates are taken to the meets but President Paige Brann believe the club has high potential.

“I want us to win,” Brann said, “I’ve been to a [meet] before so I can help the group prepare.”

Meetings start every other Tuesday beginning Oct. 3 in the afternoon. Adviser Capt says that those who can’t make it in the afternoons are more than welcome to see her in the mornings. A flat $15 fee is required for members who wish to go to the meets.
