Varsity guard wins state championships

Junior varsity places sixth out of 14 other schools in their division.

On April 13th, at the Southwest HS TECA State Championships, the Varsity winter guard won first place in the Scholastic A division, blowing the three competing schools out of the water with a score of 84.980.

This will be the second time in four years the guard wins a state championship.  Not only did the varsity win a first place trophy and gold medals but a $1,000 scholarship was awarded to senior captain Jordan Leyendecker.

The junior varsity took sixth place in the division (Scholastic Regional AA) out of 14 schools with a score of 77.05.
