With the 20th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001 this Saturday, Comal Independent School District will be holding several events to honor the day.

On  Friday, a minute long district-wide moment of silence will be held at 9:30 a.m. to show respect for the fallen; students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white and blue in remembrance of 9/11. Students will also be given the opportunity to write letters to local firefighters, law enforcement officers, veterans and other first responders to thank them for their service and pay them respect.

All campuses and facilities in the Comal ISD district will be fly the flags at half staff to honor the fallen, and on Saturday, all school and pro-sport stadiums will have their lights turned on all night to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11. Some individual campuses might also hold campus-specific memorials to remember the day.
