Swim
This past weekend swim competed at Regional, with the girls placing second overall. The girls also made state in both the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays.
Two new school records have been placed in both events as well. In the 200 Medley, Ava Schneider, Finley Harroff, Ansley Rieschick, and Cameryn Cavazos. In the 200 Free Relay, Schneider, Elise Hornburg, Cavazos, and Harroff.
Harroff also became the Regional Champion in the 200 Freestyle. She also broke the school record in the 100 breaststroke and qualified for state in that event as well.
Other individual state qualifiers were Cavazos who qualified for state in the 200 Free and 500 Freestyle. Ava Schneider who qualified for state in the 100 Freestyle, and Jason Hufford who qualified for state in the 200 IM.
These athletes look to compete at State Feb. 21st and 22nd at the UT Natatorium.
Wrestling
Ranger wrestling is continuing to have great success as they recently had Regionals in Corpus Christi with the Girls finishing 2nd overall and the Boys team finishing 4th overall. These amazing performances allow them to advance to State.

Junior Bryce Palmer has made state for the third time in a row and is looking forward to another great performance as are his teammates as Ranger wrestling have a lot to prepare for with the State meet being held on Friday and Saturday in Houston, Texas.
Softball
Softball played against Dripping Springs Feb. 8 and lost 3-4 the first game of the season. They will head to Cibolo to play against the Steele Knights who started off their season with a big win 15-5 against the Brandeis Broncos. Smithson Valley won over Steele 8-5 on Feb. 10 making them 1-1 overall. Their next game will be against East central 1-0-1 on Feb. 13 at 2:00p.m. This game will be the start of tournament play for the Rangers.
Boys basketball
Boys basketball ended the season off with a win over Beorne champion 60-56 on Feb. 11. The leading scorer for the game was junior Robert Gutierrez who had 18 points and was 80% from the field. The leading scorer for the year was senior PG Wayne Jurica totaling 417 points, senior PG Kalten is leading assists with 138, Jurica also leads in total steals with 33, Gutierrez leads in total blocks with 12, and sophomore Wyatt Clemens leads in total rebounds with 132. The Rangers end the season with a record 11-15 overall and 4-12 in district play putting them eighth in district.
Girls soccer
The girls are on a roll this season. This past Friday girls soccer played against Tivy and won 9-0, making them first in district.
Goals were scored by senior Raelyn Hinojosa (2),junior Addie Briscoe (1), sophomores Peyton Cox (1) , Alondra sanchez (1), juniors Ashley Stevens (1), Gabby Guerrero (1), Emma Perez (1), and lastly freshman Briseida East (1).
Assists were given by Briscoe (2), junior Hannah Newton (2), Hinojosa (2), and lastly sophomores Izzy Sutherland (1) and Cox (1).
Yesterday the team hit the road to Veterans Memorial and won 4-0. Goals were scored by Newton, Cox, junior Morgan Heintz, and senior Katelyn North. Assists were given by Sanchez, senior Alyssa Pipes, and sophomore Tyler Bottjer.
The team still remains first in district with a record of 6-0-2 and an overall of 8-4-2. They look to play on the road again this Friday at Boerne Champion.
Boys soccer
Boys soccer won 3-2 against Kerrville tivy on Feb. 8. The lead scorer for the game was sophomore Leo Urrutia who had 3 goals for a hat trick, with assists from senior Forward Josh Mazzotta and senior Forward Sebastian Morales. On Feb. 11 soccer won for the third time in a row triumphing over Veterans Memorial 2-1. Sophomore Leo Urrita was also named E-N soccer player of the week due to his incredible performance over the past couple games. Urrita scored 2 goals in the 6-2 win over Wagner and 3 goals over Tivy. With the over Veterans memorial the Rangers record is 5-5-4 overall and 3-2-3 in district play.
Track and Field
Track and Field will look to compete this Friday at the Comal ISD Relays located at Canyon high school.
