The theater and choir departments are already ramping up for this year’s musical, “Bye Bye Birdie.”

In the show, the most popular rock and roll singer of the 1960s, Conrad Birdie, is being drafted into the army.

His agent, Albert Peterson, hatches a plan to get him on the Ed Sullivan Show to sell his latest song and to keep Almaelou Music from going out of business.

Rehearsals began Oct. 3 in the choir room from 5 to 6 p.m.

The cast list has been announced for this year’s musical with:

Kevon Vernon as Conrad Birdie,

Elf Synodinos as Albert Peterson,

Lindsey Curtis as Rosie Alvarez,

Olivia Siskey as Helen,

Kaylee Underwood as Ursula Merkle,

Hannah Presley as Kim MacAfee,

Josiah Webb as Mr. MacAfee,

Electra Jordan as Mrs. MacAfee and

Emily Harrison as Mrs. Mae Peterson.

For information about chorus casting and minor roles, see the cast list posted outside the theater classroom.

The show performance dates are Dec. 8-10.
