Football pulled off a narrow victory Friday against Midland Lee, coming away with a 21-14 win in a game that went down to the wire.

Defense took the spotlight of the night, forcing six turnovers and never allowing Midland Lee to ever get a rhythm going offensively.

Sophomore corner-back Trevon Moehrig came away with strip and a key interception late in the ballgame to prevent the Rebels from tying the game. Quarterback Josh Adkins scored all three touchdowns while tally 69 rushing yards and 115 passing yards.

While the offense seemed to struggle at times, as the game progressed, they seemed to settle in and started to click and get productive ball movement. The defense consistently stopped the Rebels and made big plays all night, whether it was to prevent Midland from scoring or even just getting a first down.

This week football takes on the Brennan Bears at Ranger Stadium for the first home game of the season. The players look to get revenge after a 41-10 loss this past season to the Bears at Farris Stadium.
