The golf team will compete at state Monday at the Legacy Hills Golf Club. Golfers including as Zach Seader, Aiden Page, Anniiston Mcllwain, Cole Cantu, and Ryan Griff will represent the boys team, while Sayers Allen will play.

Football

Senior wide receiver Jackson Duffey scored twice in the Rangers’ 24-7 victory Sept. 7 at home –  Coach Larry Hill’s 300th career win.

In the first quarter Duffey scored the first touchdown with a 9-yard reception and scored again on a 84-yard kickoff return to extend the Rangers’ lead early in the third quarter.

Also scoring were senior Cole Freund with a 7-yard reception in the first quarter and senior Clayton Amaya with a 20-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Even though the Thunderbirds bested the Rangers in total yards of offense, it didn’t matter because the Rangers bested them in points scored. Wagner had a total of 233 yards with 196 rushing yards and 37 passing yards while the Rangers had 172 yards total with 103 rushing yards and 69 passing yards. 

 

Volleyball

On Friday, volleyball defeated Wagner 3-0. The girls are currently on their third game in district and are third in the district rankings. (2-1)

Their record now sits at 20-12 on the year and they are 2-0 since their loss to Pieper.

The team leaders in this game were Macie Mathis who led the team with 14 kills, Marlowe Berry led the team in assists with 16, Brittan Fedyk led the team in digs with 14, and Megan Zamora led the team in Blocks with 2.5

Water Polo

Water Polo competed against Davenport last Friday and lost 22-9. Their next game will be this Friday at Pieper. 

 

Tennis 

On Sept. 16, tennis tied with Churchill 1-1,  and on Tuesday, the Rangers lost to Peiper 8-10. Their next game will be at home against Boerne at home.

Cross Country 

Cross Country competed in the Hays CISD XC Invitational this past Saturday. In the girls 5000m run junior, Mia Perez placed first with a time of 19:13.00, and junior, Zailey Zimmerman placed 26th with a time of 22:00.00.

In the boys 5000m run:

  • senior Bradyn Youngdahl placed second with a time of 16:38.00
  • sophomore Zebene Martine placed ninth with a time of 17:14.00,
  • sophomore Luke Smith placed 14th with a time of 17:27.00
  • junior Cruz Morales placed 28th with a time of 18:06.00
  • senior Connor Vydrzal placed 38th with a timeof 18;09.00
  • freshman Sam Hall placed 45th with a time of 18:40.00,
  • junior Landon Chapa placed 47th with a time of 18:42.00,
  • senior Diego Huerta placed 52nd with a time of 18:56.00
  • freshman Trent Youngdahl placed 56th with a time of 18:59.00
  • sophomore Christian Mazzotta placed 57th with a time of 18:59.00.

Cross Country’s next meet will be Friday at the Hoka/McNeil Invitational in Round Rock.
